Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine)

Silver· human data

Also known as: Pyridoxine

Involved in amino-acid metabolism, with some PMS evidence — but excess can harm nerves.

Vitamin B6 is a cofactor in dozens of reactions, especially amino-acid and neurotransmitter metabolism. Correcting a deficiency matters, and there is modest evidence for a benefit in premenstrual symptoms and pregnancy-related nausea.

Unusually for a water-soluble vitamin, chronic high-dose B6 is not harmless: sustained large intakes can cause peripheral nerve damage. Stay near sensible amounts and avoid prolonged megadosing.
