Rosehip extract

Silver· human data

Also known as: Rosa canina

A polyphenol-rich fruit extract with modest osteoarthritis evidence.

Rosehip is the fruit of the wild rose, rich in vitamin C and anti-inflammatory polyphenols (including a galactolipid studied for joints).

Meta-analyses of standardised rosehip powder suggest a modest but reasonably consistent reduction in osteoarthritis pain, better than placebo though not dramatic. It is well tolerated and a reasonable evidence-based option among herbal joint supplements.
