MSM (methylsulfonylmethane)

Silver· human data

Also known as: Methylsulfonylmethane

A sulphur compound with early evidence for joint pain and exercise recovery.

MSM is an organic sulphur compound taken for joint comfort, inflammation and, more recently, exercise recovery. Sulphur is a building block of connective tissue, which underlies the rationale.

Small trials suggest modest reductions in joint pain in osteoarthritis (sometimes combined with glucosamine) and in markers of exercise-induced muscle damage, but studies are small and short. Promising and well tolerated rather than firmly established.
