Molybdenum
Silver· human dataA trace enzyme cofactor needed in tiny amounts; deficiency is essentially unheard of.
Molybdenum is a trace mineral that serves as a cofactor for a small number of enzymes, including those that process sulphur-containing compounds. Requirements are tiny and easily met from legumes, grains and nuts.
Dietary deficiency in healthy people is essentially unheard of outside rare genetic or clinical situations, so routine supplementation offers no benefit. It appears in some multivitamins simply for completeness.
