Glutathione (liposomal)

Silver· human data

Also known as: Liposomal glutathione

The body's master antioxidant, but oral supplements face an absorption problem.

Glutathione is the body's central antioxidant, and low levels accompany many diseases and ageing, which drives demand for supplements.

The problem is oral absorption: standard glutathione is largely broken down in the gut, so raising tissue levels reliably is hard. Liposomal and other delivery forms aim to improve this, with some human studies showing raised blood glutathione, but outcome evidence is limited — and supplying the precursor (NAC or glycine plus cysteine) is often a more effective route.
