Ginger
Gold· human dataAlso known as: Zingiber officinale
A genuinely effective anti-nausea remedy with additional digestive and anti-inflammatory uses.
Ginger is one of the better-evidenced food-based remedies. For nausea in particular — pregnancy-related, motion sickness, and post-operative or chemotherapy-related — multiple trials support a genuine benefit.
It is also used for general digestive comfort and has modest anti-inflammatory effects studied for muscle soreness and osteoarthritis. It is safe as a food and supplement for most; at high doses it can mildly thin the blood, so take care around anticoagulants and surgery.
