Eggshell membrane

Silver· human data

Also known as: NEM

A source of collagen and joint compounds with early osteoarthritis data.

Eggshell membrane is the thin layer inside an egg, naturally containing collagen, glycosaminoglycans (including hyaluronic acid) and other connective-tissue components, sold for joint comfort.

A few small, often industry-linked trials report reduced joint pain and stiffness within a week or two of natural eggshell membrane (NEM). The evidence is early and limited, so treat it as promising rather than proven; avoid it with egg allergy.
