An IGF-1-based growth-factor pitch with essentially no supporting evidence.
Deer antler velvet is marketed on its content of the growth factor IGF-1, with claims of enhanced muscle and recovery. The core problem is that any IGF-1 is a protein that would be digested if swallowed and is present in tiny amounts, so the premise does not survive scrutiny.
Controlled studies do not support meaningful performance or muscle benefits. Beyond the lack of evidence, IGF-1 is prohibited in sport, making these products a genuine anti-doping risk for tested athletes.
