Chaga mushroom
Bronze· animal data onlyAlso known as: Inonotus obliquus
An antioxidant mushroom with mostly lab and animal data, and an oxalate caution.
Chaga is a birch-growing fungus marketed as a potent antioxidant and immune supplement.
Its antioxidant and immune claims rest mostly on laboratory and animal studies, with very little human trial evidence to date. It is also high in oxalates, and there are case reports of kidney problems with heavy use, so moderation and caution (especially with kidney issues) are warranted.
