What it is

GHK-Cu is a small peptide that occurs naturally in the body and binds copper. It is best known as a copper peptide used topically in skincare, where it is associated with skin-firmness and appearance claims.

Composition

GHK is a three-amino-acid peptide; combined with copper it forms GHK-Cu. It is a well-established cosmetic ingredient, and also sold as an injectable research chemical.

Proposed mechanism

In laboratory and animal work it has been linked to wound-healing, tissue-remodelling and skin-supporting pathways, which underpins both the cosmetic use and the broader "healing" marketing.

Claimed benefits

Firmer, better-looking skin (topical) and, more speculatively, systemic tissue healing and anti-ageing (injected).

Preliminary· mixed evidence. There is laboratory and some topical-skin evidence behind its appearance-related use. The broader systemic "healing" and anti-ageing claims — especially for injected use — rest on cell and animal data rather than good human trials, and should be treated as speculative.

There is no approved medical drug use; GHK-Cu is an established cosmetic ingredient used topically.
