What it is
Epithalon is a synthetic four-amino-acid peptide based on a substance derived from the pineal gland. It is marketed heavily for longevity and "anti-ageing", often with claims about lengthening telomeres — the protective caps on chromosomes.
Composition
It is a short synthetic peptide (a tetrapeptide). What is sold online is a laboratory-made research chemical.
Proposed mechanism
It is claimed to activate telomerase, the enzyme that maintains telomeres, and thereby slow cellular ageing — the story behind its longevity marketing.
