Methodology
Three lines of arithmetic, nothing more:
concentration (mg/ml) = vial contents (mg) ÷ diluent added (ml)
draw volume (ml) = prescribed dose (mg) ÷ concentration
U-100 syringe units = draw volume (ml) × 100
Doses entered in micrograms are converted to milligrams (÷1000) before the division. The tool holds no compound database, no preset doses and no recommendations — every number comes from you, and should come to you from a prescriber.
Interpreting your result
The syringe-units figure is where mistakes are cheapest to catch: U-100 markings measure volume, so the same "10 units" contains completely different drug amounts at different concentrations. Whenever you change the diluent volume, the concentration — and therefore the draw for the same dose — changes with it. Re-run the arithmetic after any change, and cross-check against your prescriber's instructions before drawing.
If the tool reports that your dose needs more volume than the vial holds, the usual culprit is a units mix-up (mg entered as mcg or vice versa).
Limitations
- Arithmetic assumes complete, uniform dissolution and no overfill; actual vial contents can vary slightly from the label.
- This page cannot verify that your entered values are correct or safe — it multiplies and divides exactly what you type.
- Sterile technique, storage and administration are entirely outside this tool's scope; your pharmacist is the right source for all three.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I calculate peptide reconstitution?
- Concentration = vial contents (mg) ÷ diluent added (ml). Draw volume = your prescribed dose ÷ that concentration, and a U-100 syringe reads 100 units per ml. This tool performs exactly that arithmetic on numbers you supply.
- Why doesn't this tool suggest doses?
- Deliberately. Dosing belongs to your prescriber — the calculator carries no compound presets and no dose suggestions, and only converts values you already have into volumes and syringe units.
- What is a U-100 syringe?
- A syringe calibrated so that 100 units equal 1 ml. The unit markings measure volume, not drug amount — the same unit count contains different amounts depending on your concentration, which is why this arithmetic matters.
- Does the diluent amount change the dose?
- No — it changes the concentration, and therefore the volume you draw for the same dose. More diluent means larger, easier-to-measure draw volumes; the drug amount per dose stays whatever your prescriber set.
