Mobility, Joints & Bone
Loading beats stretching, strength beats posture, and bone responds to both.
Pain and stiffness are the most common reasons people stop training, and the content that fills those searches — posture correction, stretching routines, alignment fixes — is largely built on ideas the evidence has moved past.
The consistent finding across these pages is that tissue responds to graded load. Not rest, not stretching, not correction: load, applied progressively. Where guidelines exist (back pain, osteoporosis) we follow them, and where symptoms need a clinician we say so.
Guides
- Stretching and Warm-Ups: What Actually Does What
Stretching does some things well. Preventing injury is not reliably one of them — strength training is.
- Back Pain: What Guidelines Actually Recommend
The gap between evidence and practice here is enormous — and most of it involves things people are sold rather than things they do.
- Tendon Pain: Why Load Is the Treatment
Achilles and patellar tendinopathy respond to graded heavy loading — and rest is the intervention that fails.
- Bone Health: What Actually Builds It
Bone responds to heavy load and impact — and the assumption that fragile bones need gentle exercise has been tested and found wanting.
